


Dr. Weiss is a world-renowned clinical endocrinologist devoted to diagnosis and treatment of genetic diseases of the thyroid with the discovery of new genes and mechanisms of thyroid hormone action and disease. Immediate past President of the Central Society for Translational and Clinical Research. Member of the National Institute of Arthritis, Metabolism and Digestive Diseases, IRSA and Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society.
Published over 106 research articles and books on thyroid hormone transporters and neurologic disease and discovery of new diseases, such as SBP2 deficiency causing inability to convert T4 to the active hormone T3, and genetic basis of endocrine diseases. Currently Chairman of Department of Medicine at the top 50 ranking University of Miami Miller School of Medicine overseeing a $150 million budget with 350+ faculty.
